Alexander was born on 14 October, 1941, in Samara, Russia. He is the son of Vasily Stalin and Galina Burdonskaya. His father was an author by profession. He attended the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts. Alexander has a total of 6 siblings. He refused to take his grandfather’s surname. He was awarded with the People’s Artist of Russia Awards in 1996. He is known for his great contribution in the field of theater and films.

Profession

Alexander is a theater and film director by profession. He has directed movies like Playing On the Keys of Soul and This Madman Platonov. Also, he has directed more than 20 plays at the Moscow Theater.

Alexander’s Love Life

Alexander married Dalia Tamulevicute. Dalia was a Lithuanian teacher and theater director. She died in 2006. It is not known if they have children or not. Moreover, their marriage year is also not disclosed.

Alexander’s Death

Alexander died on 23 May, 2017 in Moscow, Russia. At the time of his death he was 75 years old. He died battling with cancer. He is buried at Vagankovo Cemetery, Moscow, Russia.

Alexander’s GrandFather: Joseph Stalin

Alexander’s Grandfather Stalin was born 18 December 1878 in Gori, Georgia. He was the son of Keke Geladze and Besarion Jughashvilli. His father was a cobbler by profession and his father was a drunkard. He was a Soviet revolutionary and a politician by profession. He also was the general secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union.

He became the Premier of the Soviet Union in 1924 and was in the position until his death in 1953.

Stalin attended Tbilisi Spiritual Seminary. He was a member of Marxist Russian Social Democratic Party. Stalin married Kato Svanidze in 1906 but unfortunately due to illness she died in 1907. Later, Stalin married Nadezhda Alliluyeva in 1919 but unfortunately she also died in November 1932.

Stalin has a total of 7 children. Stalin has founded organizations like  Cominform, Comecon, SMERSH, Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee. He was a strong supporter of Marxism and he embraced it at the age of fifteen. Later, he introduced an ideology named Stalinism which was a mixture of Marxist-Leninist ideologies. He died at the age of 74 on 5 March 1953 in Moscow, Soviet Union.

Why Alexander Refused To Take His GrandFathers Name?

Alexander refused to take his grandfather’s name because his father was strongly against Stalin and he had a difficult relationship with Stalin. Due to this Alexander’s father started drinking alcohol and died at the early age of 40 due to that. So because of his horrible childhood Alexander decided to give away his grandfather’s name and give his life a new start with arts and theater.
