For under 15 bucks, you snag yourself a sealer that’s not only budget-friendly but also kicks UV rays and dust to the curb, guarding your artwork. Plus, it throws in a slick, glossy finish for that extra oomph. Best part-You can mix it with Galeria Matte Varnish to achieve the finish variation you want.
Now, I like to be honest in all my reviews. My experience with this sealer was a bit of a long haul. On my large Canva painting, it took several layers to achieve the coverage I was satisfied with. I found myself applying it over four times to achieve a clean canvas. Personally, this didn’t worry me much since I used other colors for layering.
So if your canvas isn’t entirely clean, be prepared to apply around 4 to 5 layers for the best results. Other than that, I do not see any cons with this one. Such a great product for Metal, Plastic, Model and Canva surfaces.

Is there any artist who has never tried liquitex acrylic paints? I highly doubt it. Liquitex is a power- house that has been in the market since 1955. Not to over hype this brand but if you have ever tried their acrylic paints, you know that they are among the best ( in terms of quality, durability and ease of use) that we currently have in the industry. Now, the Liquitex Professional Gloss Varnish is an attention catcher because it comes with a 8-oz / 237ml bottle of medium and gives a glossy finish. However, if you want a matte finish you can check out the Liquitex BASICS Matte Varnish. Even though this sealer can be used on a variety of surfaces, I recommend using it on Canva.
Speaking from my own experience, using this sealer was a breeze of fresh air to say the least. I noticed there was no strong odor, and cleaning the brush afterward was easy-peasy. I applied it with a light touch, ensuring not to overdo it. After giving it a patient 2 days to dry, I finally lightly sanded it with a fine-grade paper and wiped it down thoroughly.
I did apply a second coat which took about a good 48 hours to fully dry and set. One thing’s for sure, I learned not to rush the process – it’s all about letting it dry at its own pace. I bought this sealer for my nieces and they loved it. The clean-up after painting is such a huge blessing, especially when kids are involved. Once it dried, it looked really smooth and shiny, like glass. It also stayed clear, just like water. My experience with it was great. It’s a good choice to make your art look perfect and clear.
